Cookies and storage

This page describes everything that this site can leave on your device, which is very little. It is written to sit alongside the notice that appears at the foot of the screen on a first visit.

There are none. The pages are static and carry no analytics, no tag manager, no advertising script and no social widget, so there is nothing here that would want a cookie in the first place. Nobody is counting you, and no identifier follows you from one page to the next.

Cloudflare, which delivers the pages

The site is served through Cloudflare, a content delivery network that also filters abusive traffic. Cloudflare handles the request itself — the page address, the browser type, the country derived from the IP address — and may add a small performance beacon to pages it serves, which reports how quickly the page rendered. That beacon stores nothing on your device and sets no cookie.

What is stored in your browser

One entry, and only after you answer the notice. It lives in your browser’s local storage under the name dd_cookie_note, and it holds your answer so that the notice does not reappear on every page. It is not a cookie: it is never sent to a server, it cannot be read by another site, and it contains no identifier, no address and nothing about how you read the page.

What accepting or declining actually changes

Only whether the notice comes back. There is no analytics to switch on and no tracking to switch off, so both answers leave the site working in exactly the same way. The notice exists because it is fair to tell you what is stored, not because a choice unlocks anything.

How to clear it

Clearing site data for dicedigest.com removes the entry, and the notice will appear again on your next visit. In Chrome, open the padlock beside the address and choose the option for site data; in Firefox, use Clear cookies and site data from the same padlock menu; in Safari, use Manage Website Data under Privacy in Settings. Browsing in a private window has the same effect, since the storage is discarded when the window closes.
